Joe Little Twig

Joseph Little Twig (Johnson ) ( born May 12, 1897 in Hogansburg, New York, † March 3, 1939 in Canton, Ohio) was an US- American football player and a policeman. He played on the offensive line and the defensive line in the National Football League ( NFL), among others, at the Oorang Indians.

Playing career

A native of Mohawk Indians Joe Little Twig has already played at the high school American football and continued his career at the College. From 1917 to 1921 he served in the United States Army and joined after his discharge from the military to the trained by Jim Thorpe Oorang Indians, who played in the NFL. After the Indians had to suspend their gaming operations after the season in 1923, changed next Twig and Thorpe also her teammate Joe Guyon to the rock Iceland independents. After his first year at the game Independents, he was elected to the All- Pro. In 1926 Twig first ran on for the Akron Indians, before he finished his career with the Canton Bulldogs.

After playing career

Joe Twig served immediately after his playing career as a patrolman with the police in Canton. In 1931 he quit the service. Twig was married twice and had two children. He was involved on 28 February 1939, his cars in a traffic accident. In this accident he suffered serious injuries, where he eventually died on 3 March 1939. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton.
