Joe Louis Walker

Joe Louis Walker ( born December 25, 1949 in San Francisco, California) is an American blues guitarist.

Biography

Through his parents Walker came as a child with the blues in touch. At 14 he began playing guitar. At the age of 16 he decided to earn his money with the music.

Mike Bloomfield introduced Walker in the blues scene of the Bay Area. In the 1960s he played with the likes of Steve Miller, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, Lightnin ' Hopkins, Magic Sam, Earl Hooker, Freddie King, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Fred McDowell and Lowell Fulson.

Burnt pulled Walker in 1975 for ten years from the Blues back and sang the gospel quartet The Spiritual Corinthians, in which he 1980, the album God Will Provide recorded.

In 1985 he returned to the Blues, but remained the influence of gospel music from now on always be felt. He founded in San Francisco, the " Boss Talkers ". His highly acclaimed first album, Cold Is The Night was published in 1986, more followed.

Walker won numerous awards, including several Handy Awards.
