Joe Marston Medal

With the Joe Marston Medal of the outstanding players of the Australian Football Championship Finals ( Grand Final) will be honored every year since 1990. Until 2004 the award at the National Soccer League was awarded, after they are set in 2004, took over the follow- League A -League the price.

The namesake of the award is Joe Marston, Australian national team during the 1950s and FA Cup finalist in 1954 with Preston North End. Alex Tobin ( 1992, 1994 ) and Simon Colosimo (2003, 2010) are the only players who received the award more than once. Scott Chipperfield succeeded in 2000 as the only player so far in the same year with the Johnny Warren Medal, than to be awarded Australia's player of the year. In five finals, the award went to a player of the losing team ( 1991, 1993, 2004, 2011, 2012 ).
