Joe Mesi

Joe Mesi ( born November 27, 1973 in Tonawanda, New York State ) is an American heavyweight boxer.

Amateur

Mesi was a good amateur at the national level in the USA. By his own account his record was 72-8. He admits to have beaten Hasim Rahman KO, but to have lost a second fight on points. When elimination tournament for the Olympic Games 1996 he lost by KO against Lawrence Clay -Bey. This result characterizes its image as a "White Hope" with glass chin.

Professional

End of 2005, his license expired. After he unsuccessfully tried to renew it in the U.S., it was issued in February 2006 in Puerto Rico a new license. He finally returned to the ring in April 2006.
