Joe Perry (snooker player)

Joe Perry, actually Joseph Raymond Perry ( born August 13, 1974 in Wisbech ) is an English snooker player from Chatteris.

Career

Perry is pro since 1991 and finished in 2008 number 12 in the official World Snooker rankings. The following season, he could advance in the provisional ranking among the top 10. His greatest single achievement was the victory in the Championship League 2008, an invitational tournament and the victory at the Yixing Open in 2013, a minor ranking tournament. His best result at a full ranking tournament was the final of the European Open in 2001, which he lost to Stephen Hendry. In 2007 he became team world champion in mixed doubles along with Leah Willets. His best result at the World Championships was achieved by the gentleman, as Joe Perry's nickname is, in 2008; he lost only in the semi-final against Ali Carter narrowly 15:17.
