Joe Porcaro

Joseph Porcaro ( born April 29, 1930) is an American jazz drummer, percussionist and drum teacher. He has live and / or in the studio, inter alia, worked with the following musicians: Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan, Freddie Hubbard, Don Ellis, Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole, The Monkees, Gladys Knight and Madonna.

His sons Jeff, Mike and Steve are or were ( Jeff Porcaro died 1992) also successful musicians and were known primarily by the band " Toto ".

Even in retirement, he is still musically active. Thus leads him, for example, the Los Angeles Music Academy in their faculty list. In Germany, he has played in recent years occasionally on drum events and taught (so-called master classes ).
