Joe Robinson (actor)
Joe Robinson ( born May 31, 1927 in Newcastle -upon- Tyne ) is a British wrestler and actor.
Life
Robinson, who comes from a family of wrestlers - father and grandfather were world champions - first appeared in their footsteps and reached the European Championship in 1952; his ring name was Tiger Joe. He also had great success in judo and was wearing a black belt in karate. After a back injury, he focused on, however, it began already training as an actor at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and was in the same year already made an appearance in the West End of the capital ( in the musical Wish You Were Here ).
His first film appearance combined his sports with acting: in full miracle is the life he was ring opponents of Primo Carnera. In the early 1960s he was very busy both on screen as well as on television; next roles as an actor, he was also asked stunt coordinator (eg for the James Bond films). He also responded to a call from Italy, where he represented strong hero in some mythological films. In the middle of the decade he retired from the film business, around 1971 to have a final appearance in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.
Together with his brother Doug and Honor Blackman in 1964 he published the book Honor Blackman 's Book of Self- Defence, Penguin Books (1967).
Robinson lives in Brighton, where it operates a fight center; in the headlines he came in 1998 when he (aged 70 years ) in Cape Town struck a group of 8 bandits on the run.
