Joe Tompkins

Joe Tompkins ( born August 20, 1968 in Seward, Alaska) is an American disabled athletes. He drives mainly mono-ski, but is also active in other sports.

Joe Tompkins was paralyzed in a car accident in 1988. In the years that he discovered the mono skiing for themselves. As of May 1999, he was part of the American Behindertenskimannschaft (United States Disabled Alpine Ski Team Men's, USDST ), and he took off the following winter in international ski race in the disability category LW11 (seated, middle paraplegia) part.

He won the downhill race of the Disabled Skiing World Cup in Breckenridge ( Colorado) in December 1999. He took part in the Winter Paralympics 2002 and was sixth in both the downhill and super-G in its category. In January 2004, he won the super-G race of the Disabled Ski World Cup in Schoenau wild and in March 2005, the Ski World Cup downhill race is disabled in Klosters. He took part in the Winter Paralympics 2006.
