Joel Aguilar

Joel Aguilar (born 2 July 1975) is a football referee from El Salvador and since 2001 international referee FIFA. He lives in San Salvador.

He was selected as a referee for the Junior World Cup in 2007 in Canada, where he developed the game between the U.S. and South Korea, launched on 30 June 2007 5 July 2007 between New Zealand and Gambia and 8 July 2007 between Austria and Chile.

He was selected as a referee for the soccer World Cup in 2010. His participation was doubtful, because El Salvador was suspended by FIFA because of government interference in football. He headed in the World Cup not a game.

Also for the Football World Cup 2014 Aguilar has been nominated as a referee.
