Joel Brand

Jeno Joel Brand ( born April 25, 1906 in Naszód, Transylvania, † July 13, 1964 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German left-wing socialist Zionist.

Life

Joel Brand grew up in Erfurt, where his family moved in 1910. His native language was German, but he remained a Hungarian citizen. He attended elementary and finally the secondary school Erfurt. Then he made a commercial and phone technical training, and then to work with telephone companies in Leipzig, Breslau, and Stuttgart. In 1930 he joined mbH founded by his father Max Brand Thüringische telephone company and was head of sales and leasing department.

Fire was hoping for a socialist revolution and for a response to the then mass unemployment and was active in Zionist and leftist organizations.
