Joel Thorne
Joel Thorne ( born October 16, 1914 in New York City, New York, USA, † October 17, 1955 in North Hollywood, California ) was an American race car driver and engineer.
Thorne took in a constructed his own racing cars in the years 1938 - 1941 a lot of time in the 500 miles of Indianapolis in part, where in 1940 he achieved his best finish in fifth. In addition, he made some unsuccessful attempts to qualify for the race. 1946 George Robson won Thorne in a race car in Indianapolis. After his racing career he devoted himself to the aerospace industry. In 1955, he was killed with such aircraft. He rushed to a risky maneuver in a house. In the accident eight more people died.
