Joern Meissner

Joern Meissner is a German economist, consultant and entrepreneur. He holds a Ph.D. and an M.Phil. from Columbia Business School in New York. His doctoral supervisors were Awi spring Gruen and Costis Maglaras.

Work

Meissner 's Professor of Supply Chain Management & Pricing Strategy at the Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg. In addition, he also lectures at the University of Hamburg and was a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Management and the University of Mannheim. Meissner is the founder of Manhattan Review, a multinational test preparation and application consulting firm based in New York.

Meissner's research focuses on the areas of supply chain management, production and revenue management. His articles have appeared in magazines Manufacturing and Service Operations Management ( MSOM ); Operations Research; Naval Research Logistics; European Journal of Operational Research, as well as in several anthologies. His article "Dynamic pricing strategies for multi- product revenue management problem", written together with Costis Maglaras, was a finalist at the MSOM Best Paper Award 2009. During his research, he advises several Fortune 500 companies and startups.

Meissner was quoted in Business Week, Newsweek, The Independent, The Times and the Financial Times Germany. The Handelsblatt published several interviews with him and he is a regular columnist for the MBA -Verlag supplement of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
