Joey Belladonna

Joey Belladonna ( born October 13, 1960 in Oswego, NY as Joseph Anthony Bellardini ) is a rock musician from New York who plays and sings, among others in the band Anthrax.

Biography

Growing up in upstate New York Belladonna hired by various cover bands and the demo - tape Bible Black won his spurs as a singer. His singing was often compared to that of Steve Perry of Journey.

Joey Belladonna replaced 1984 Neil Turbin on vocals with Anthrax. His first release with the band was the Armed & Dangerous EP. Overall, he sang with the band a four full albums and several compilations, EPs and singles. It was the anthrax commercially successful and most famous phase of the band. In addition to its typical, well-known style of singing, he also experimented with Chanting, like Bring the Noise, collaboration with Public Enemy, and at Startin ' Up a Posse. During this time he also played with in the film Pledge Night.

In the 1990s, Belladonna left the band and was replaced by John Bush from Armored Saint. The band wanted to go in another direction and saw the vocally limited Belladonna not have a chance to perceive this.

Belladonna then formed a band under his own name. After several line- up changes his solo debut Bella Donna was recorded with guitarist Therein Scott, bassist Joe Andrews and drummer Scott Schroeter. The Belgian label Mausoleum Records released it in 1995. Supporting acts of Motörhead, the band toured the United States.

With the new line-up Peter log Hauser (ex - Killing Machine ), bass player meat (later in Silent Force ) and drummer Stet Howland (formerly WASP ) was the second album Spells of Fear arise, however, had to file for bankruptcy the record label during the recording. The band broke up again, but the 1999 album on the label Derock was published, although an incorrect line-up was specified.

2003 originated with Matt Zuber ( bass and guitar) Album 03, which was the name of Belladonna to date last album. Belladonna also took on the drum tracks.

2004, it comes as a surprise to Anthrax Reunion in the successful occupation of Ian, Bello, Spitz and Belladonna. The live shows were a great success, but were not designed to be permanent. There were plans that Belladonna should be a regular singer with Anthrax again, but he returned back to his solo project in 2006, with whom he still regularly touring in changing cast. A new solo album is planned.

The two compilations Artifacts 1 (2005) and Artifacts 2 (2006) gathered again different Belladonna sessions from 1993 with Paul Crook on guitar, Paul on bass and Jeff Mocci Tortara on drums.

Since May 2010 Belladonna again heard the official line-up of anthrax. In addition, he will go in December of 2013 with the Magnum Opum Rockestra, led by Marcel Heijnen on a special Christmas Metal Symphony Tour. It is a 32 -person orchestra. Other singers of this project are Udo Dirk Schneider, Michael Kiske, Chuck Billy, Joacim Cans and Floor Jansen.
