Johan Backlund
Johan Backlund (born 24 July 1981 in Skellefteå ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender who is under contract with HK Vityaz in the Kontinental Hockey League since 2013.
Career
Johan Backlund started his professional career with his hometown club Skellefteå AIK. For the season 2003/ 04 he moved to Leksand IF and now has established itself as one of the best goalkeepers in the league. After three more seasons, he then switched to the 2006/07 season to Timrå IK, with whom he played an excellent season. During the season, he was one of the best goalies, which proved to be Gegentorschnitt of 2.24 and its catch rate of 91.15 %. In the play-offs he failed with his club later Master MODO Hockey in seven games with 3:4 victories. His good performances made numerous NHL clubs aware of him.
In spring 2009, it finally took the Philadelphia Flyers signed and played in the next three years for their farm team, the Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League. In January 2012, was loaned to Kärpät Oulu, which gave him a contract extension after the season until 2013. Then moved Backlund in the Continental Hockey League for HK Vityaz.
Internationally
Backlund took part in the World Cup 2007 in Russia as the goalkeeper of the Swedish national team.
