Johan Harju

Johan Harju ( born May 15, 1986 in Övertorneå ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Luleå HF in the Elitserien since 2011.

Career

Johan Harju began his career as a hockey player with Luleå HF, for which he was already active in the youth field. In the season 2004/ 05, the attacker made ​​his debut in professional hockey, as he stood in four games for Lulea HF in the Elitserien on the ice, where he remained point and impunity. From the following season he played for four years on a regular basis for the team, which he left at the end of season 2008 /09. For the 2009/10 season the Swede signed on 8 April 2009 a contract with HK Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League, where on the same day, his teammate Linus Omark signed. For the season 2010/11 he moved to North America, where he received a contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, who had chosen him already in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the sixth round as a total 167 players. In the course of the season he came mainly for their farm team in Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League action, while in the National Hockey League, he scored a goal for Tampa Bay in ten games and prepare two goals.

For the 2011/12 season Harju returned to his hometown club Luleå HF back in the Elitserien.
