Johan Jongkind

Johan Barthold Jongkind ( born June 3, 1819 in Lattrop ( in the church today spelled, Overijssel ); † February 9, 1891 in La Côte- Saint -André, France) was a Dutch painter.

Life

He was the son of a Dutch tax collector. He's a little -known painter, regarded by some art experts even as the real founder of Impressionism. He in turn was adored by many future Impressionists, such as Claude Monet and Paul Signac as a model. Jongkind itself was inspired by the realists, especially by Camille Corot, inspire, and is therefore sometimes also counted among the painters of realism.

Jongkind is one of the painters who exhibited her paintings in 1863 at the Salon of the Rejected after the submission of his paintings for the Paris Salon was rejected by the jury.
