Importance

As a biblical theologian Hofmann was mainly involved in the question of whether the Bible can prove to be the basis of theology. Against the recourse Friedrich Schleiermacher and the Lutheran orthodoxy Hofmann attempted here to establish the truth of Scripture on the Ghostweave faith and to develop a theological understanding of science.

The contents of the script, which you immanent history, was developed by Hofmann as salvation history, in the midst of Christ stands. This Christocentric - pneumatological alignment was then, however, counteracted by the reduction of the doctrine of God on subjective statements of belief. Background of this anthropological doctrine of God was his own pietistic piety Hofmann. Kosequent then developed the story of salvation in human perspective, but which had to lose the doctrine of justification in importance. The soteriology has been marginalized by a relativized concept of sin. Most recently, even the church only instrument and demonstrative on a way to a perfect Christianity.
