Johann Ernst Plamann

Johann Ernst Plamann ( born June 22, 1771 in Repzin in the Neumark, † September 3, 1834 in Berlin) was a German educational reformer. He was the founder of Plamann reformatory.

Life

Johann Ernst Plamann began his academic career in the Royal Junior High School and then attended the Joachimsthal'sche school. In 1790 he was then able to study theology in Halle, which he did until 1793. In 1797 he is back in Berlin and taught at private schools. At the suggestion of the poet Tiedge he read Pestalozzi 's writings and decided to visit him in Burgdorf, Switzerland. On 8 May 1803, he traveled with borrowed money to Pestalozzi, who received him kindly. He was thrilled by Pestalozzi methodology and immediately after his return late in 1803, he applied for a license which he also received. It took until 1805 until he was able to open the school.

1812, the school was reclassified as an educational institution. Many well-known personalities have worked as a teacher: Friedrich Friesen, Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, Wilhelm Harnisch, Karl August Gottlieb Brash, Ernst Wilhelm Bernhard panis, Karl Friedrich Klöden, Friedrich Froebel, Ernst Ferdinand August and others.

For his successful work on him the title of Professor was conferred on May 8, 1818. From here already began the descent, the Carlsbad Decrees made ​​for an increasing pressure, and the existence plagued by fears about the institution plan man was overwhelmed, good teachers were or were even thrown into prison ( Jahn ). The health of the plan man suffered.

So he had his institute in 1827 but ultimately close. He made numerous cures to recover again and died on 3 September 1834. He was buried in the Trinity Cemetery II. The grave is not obtained.

Plan man was married. The marriage remained childless.
