Johann Friedrich Kind

Johann Friedrich Kind ( born March 4, 1768 in Leipzig, † June 24, 1843 in Dresden ) was a German writer.

The father of a child was a judge and councilor of Leipzig. There child attended the Thomas School; later the University to study philosophy and law. From 1789 child worked at the Justice office in Delitzsch. There he built a private theater, where he also played himself. Besides, he also worked as an editor and journalist.

In 1792 he went to Dresden, where he was a year later established himself as a lawyer. In 1814 he resigned and devoted himself to just writing. He wrote, among other things, the libretto for Carl Maria von Weber's opera Der Freischütz and the spectacle of the night camp of Granada, which later Conradin Kreutzer served as a template for the opera of the same.

Child was a member of the Writers' Association Dresdner song cycle. In 1818 he was awarded the title of privy councilor of the Duke of Saxe- Coburg.

On June 24, 1843 Johann Friedrich died child in Dresden and was buried in the Trinity Cemetery.
