Johann Georg Heinrich Feder

Johann Georg Heinrich spring ( born May 15, 1740 in Schornweisach, † February 22, 1821 in Hannover ) was a German philosopher.

Life

Johann Georg Heinrich spring studied at Erlangen theology and education, was from 1768 to 1782 professor of philosophy at the University of Göttingen; died as director of the Institute Page. His writings were widely read because of its clear and tasteful presentation on their time. He joined the Kantian idealism contrary decision. He became famous for his criticism of the amendment Christian Garve to Kant's Critique of Pure Reason. " Spring emphasizes the crucial importance of psychology to philosophy, which he considered essentially a purely practical and empirical point of view " ( Ziegenfuss ). Spring was a member of the Masonic Lodge Auguste to the three flames in Göttingen since 1782.

After his his scientific reputation detrimental controversy with Immanuel Kant left spring Göttingen and was in Hannover Head of Georgianums (up to its final resolution 1811) and also in 1802 the Royal Library (today: Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Library ) in Hanover and in 1806 Director of the court school.

His son Karl August Ludwig spring became director of the Royal Library in Darmstadt.
