Johann Gottfried Vierling

Johann Gottfried Vierling ( born January 25, 1750 in Metzels, † November 22, 1813 in Schmalkalden ) was a German organist and composer.

Life

Since 1763, he attended the School in Schmalkalden. In 1768 he followed his teacher Johann Nikolaus Tischer as organist in Schmalkalden. One -to-find in the older biographical literature Education at Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Johann Philipp KirnBerger is not secured; it is clear that he stood with both in personal contact.

Vierling, the style was based on Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, composed several collections easier organ pieces, a four-part chorale Organ Book ( 1790) and harpsichord music: two trios, a quartet and six sonatas. Handwritten preserved church cantatas by him two vintages. He also published an improvisation teaching and a basso school.
