Johann Paul Schor

Johann Paul Schor (also called Giovanni Paolo Tedesco; * June 1615 in Innsbruck, † February or March 1674 in Rome) was an Austrian painter and versatile artist.

He comes from a famous Tyrolean family of artists and learned first from his father Hans Schor. In 1640 he settled in Rome and studied the works of Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Pietro da Cortona, whose pupil he was there. He became in 1654 a member of the Academy of Fine Arts Accademia di San Luca and maintained a studio, which was performed after his death by his sons, Philip and John Paul. Many of his works were incorrectly assigned in the past, Gian Lorenzo Bernini.

In Cortona, he equipped the Quirinale, Bernini, he helped the Cathedra Petri.

Schor was buried on March 6, 1674 in Rome.
