Johann Rudolf Tschiffeli

Johann Rudolf Tschiffeli ( born December 16, 1716 in Bern, † January 15, 1780 ) was a Swiss agronomist.

He was friends with Julie Bondeli and member of the Helvetic Society. In 1759 he founded in Bern with like-minded people such as Samuel Engel and Niklaus Emanuel Tscharner the today still existing economic society. Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi graduated from 1767 to 1768 on his model farm in Kirchberg an agricultural teaching.

His widow held in late autumn 1788 in Heilbronn, where she demonstrated the practical application of the " Animal Magnetism " and thus took effect on the local town doctor Eberhard Gmelin.
