Johann Salver

Johann Salver (* 1670, † 1738) was the court and university engraver in Würzburg.

As an engraver, he worked for the Würzburg prince- bishop and the University of Würzburg. In this context, he made a series of portraits of the bishops to return to the founding period of the diocese. The portraits were retroactively in the early period of the diocese episcopal coat of arms attributed to the order but rather arise from the ideas of the 18th century and distort the historical development of family and bishop coat of arms.

From his third marriage where famous as a genealogist son Octavian Johann Salver.
