Johanna Schnarf

Johanna ( " Hanna " ) Schnarf ( born September 16, 1984 in Brixen ) is an Italian alpine skier. The South Tyrolean specializes in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G and Super Combined.

Biography

Schnarf took in December 1999 for the first time in FIS races in part, inserts in the European Cup was followed in February 2002. On 5 December 2004, she played her first World Cup race, the Super -G in Lake Louise. Due to lack of success, it took over a year, until she could go to the highest level at the start again.

As 20 of the super -G in St. Moritz January 20, 2006 Schnarf won her first World Cup points, two days later she was in the same place in ten of the super-combined. In the season 2005/ 06 they reached the second place of departure rating in the European Cup. More than a year was a sixth place their best result in the World Cup, achieved on 20 February 2009 in the super combined in Tarvisio. Just before she reached the sixth place in the super-combined at the World Championship in 2009 in Val d'Isere. At the 2010 Winter Olympics they missed as fourth in the Super -G medal only just; in the super combined was eighth.

On March 6, 2010 Schnarf was in the departure of Crans -Montana rather surprisingly Second, only a hundredth of a second behind winner Lindsey Vonn. Then they reached the World Cup so far no further podiums, but numerous top-10 results. In 2010 she was elected to the South Tyrolean Sportswoman of the Year. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen was Schnarf eighth in the super combined, while it did not come in downhill and super -G into the top 20.

On the 25th of September 2012 Schnarf suffered in the giant slalom training in Ushuaia, Argentina, a torn ACL and meniscus injury in his right knee. You will need to pause the entire 2012/13 season.
