Johannes Boesiger
John Bösiger ( born October 9, 1962 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German screenwriter and film producer.
Life and work
John Bösiger was born as the son of film and theater actor and director Paul Bösiger in Freiburg im Breisgau. At the age of fourteen years he played professional theaters at the Municipal Theatre Nuremberg, joined almost 130 major acting role of staged by Friedrich Schirmer and Herbert Lehnert piece Shut up, boy! Fitzgerald Kusz on, graduated with his father a government internship. After the death of his father was the move to Switzerland, where John Bösiger after completing a bookseller a journalist was. Only as a freelancer by newspapers such as Der Tagesspiegel or the press and the Zurich world week, then as an editor of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, he wrote mostly movie reviews, then moved in 1988 to the Swiss television, there was story editor and producer.
After participation in various functions both to pure television as well as on cinema co-productions put Johannes Boesiger 1992 with the feature film Children of the street, the first fully self-written and produced movie. After several further production experience followed between 1996 and 2006 the attempt to build a cultural enterprise in Zurich. After failure of the project due to legal resistors John Bösiger is now engaged as a writer and producer for International English language projects. Early encounters with Frank Daniel, Douglas Sirk and others have shaped his understanding of film- craft. 1993 graduated from John Bösiger with Peter Aalbæk Jensen, producer of Lars von Trier, the Film Finance Masterclass of the European Media Business School in Copenhagen.
In addition to its main activity as a writer and producer John Bösiger was between 1989 and 1995 Member of the Board of the International Film Festival of Locarno, a founding member of the Carl Mayer screenplay contest in Graz, in 2007 co-founder and until the end of 2011 Consultant, headed by Thomas Struck section " Culinary Cinema " at the Berlinale and advisor to various other film festivals, including the Pune International film Festival in India.
John Bösiger is the father of two children from his first and a daughter from his second marriage, now living among others in Ticino.
