Johannes Kaiser

John Kaiser ( born February 27, 1936 in discipleship, Kreis Düren, † December 17, 1996 in Zurich ) was a German track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner who - starting for the Federal Republic - the late 1950s and early 1960s, the world's best 400-meter runners belonged. Kaiser started for VfL Wolfsburg in 1960 for the ASV Köln. In his playing days, he was 1.84 m tall and weighed 81 kg. He died by suicide.

Achievements

His greatest achievement is the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 with the 4 x 400 - meter relay ( 3:02,7 min, European record, together with Hans -Joachim Reske, Manfred children and Carl Kaufmann, Johannes Kaiser as third runner ). He started playing these games for the Federal Republic in a joint German team.

Also the silver medal in the 4 x 400 meters relay he had won at the European Championships 1958 ( 3:08,2 min, together with Carl Kaufmann, Manfred Poerschke and Karl -Friedrich Haas, John Kaiser as the third runner )
