Johannes Knolleisen

John Knoll iron ( * 1450 in Olsztyn, † 1513) was the founder of a scholarship for poor students from Olsztyn / East Prussia, who studied at the University of Leipzig.

John Knollseisen was a born Allensteiner, about his parents and his youth nothing is known. He was master of theology in Leipzig and established already in 1512 his scholarship at the university there. Previously, Dr. John Knollseisen was canon at Merseburg ( 1489 ). Knollseisen Lucas and David have earned through their scholarships around the city Olsztyn merits by creating the Allensteiner young students a little help in the hard struggle for existence.
