Johannes Meisenheimer

John Meisenheimer (* June 30 1873 in Griesheim, † February 24, 1933 in Leipzig ) was a German zoologist.

Life

Meisenheimer studied under Eugen Korschelt at the Universities of Heidelberg and Marburg. He received his doctorate in 1897 and his habilitation in 1899 in Marburg. In 1907, he was there until he in 1909 a professorship in Jena and in 1914 finally got the call to Leipzig as a successor of Carl Chun associate professor. His main area of ​​work was the development history of the molluscs in particular the pteropods and Pantopoda.
