Johannes Moreelse

Johan Pauwelszon Moreelse, also John Paul Moreelse, (* 1603 () in Utrecht; ? † 1634 in Utrecht ) was a Dutch Baroque painter Caravaggio School and the Golden Age of the Netherlands. His father was the famous portrait painter of his time, Paul Moreelse. About his life little is known. John Moreelse studied in his native city of Utrecht in the studio of his father, and later in Rome ( 1627 ), where he joined a papal order of knighthood. One of the few exact dates of his life was the signing of a deed in favor of the Utrecht nobleman and lawyer Johan Honorius Van Axel de seny on 27 February 1627th His works were small in number only since the 1970s, associated with and honored him. Moreelse died in his hometown during a plague epidemic.
