Johannes Pfuhl

John Poole ( born February 20, 1846 in Lowenberg, † May 5, 1914 in Baden -Baden ) was a German sculptor.


A native of Silesia John Poole studied from 1861 to 1865 at the Art Academy Berlin with practical training in the studio with sculptor Hermann Schievelbein. Be first major work in 1872 is the monument of the Baron von Stein in Nassau. 1878 may slough afford to study in Italy. After that, he worked in Charlottenburg in his own studio again.

His son Ernst Poole (1876-1940) was a renowned archaeologist.
