Johannes Schultz (composer)

John Schultz ( baptized June 26, 1582 in Lüneburg, buried February 16, 1653 in Dannenberg (Elbe ) ) was a German composer. About his life little is known.

1605, at the age of 23 years, Johannes Schultz took a job as organist at the brunswick - Lüneburg residence in Dannenberg. He was promoted by Prince August of Wolfenbüttel and his wife. In 1653 he died in poverty.

In Schultz's collection Musicalischer Lüstgarte 1622 polyphonic vocal and instrumental pieces have survived.
