Johannes Theodor Suhr

Johannes Theodor Suhr OSB ( born January 24, 1896 in Nyborg, Denmark, † 10 March 1997) was the Roman Catholic bishop of the Diocese of Copenhagen from 1938 to 1964.

Life

Johannes Theodor Suhr joined the Congregation of the Benedictine and received there on April 1, 1933, the ordination.

In 1938 he was called by Pope Pius XI. appointed Vicar Apostolic of Denmark and was appointed titular bishop of Balecium. The episcopal consecration on January 15, 1939 He received his Cardinal Pietro Fumasoni Biondi, Prefect of the Propagation of the Faith work.

With the elevation to the Bishopric of Copenhagen in 1953, he was replaced by Pius XII. appointed Bishop of Copenhagen. In 1964 he was Paul VI. appointed Titular Bishop of Apisa Maius and appointed as Bishop Curia to Rome.

1976 his resignation was as a bishop by Pope Paul VI. granted.
