Style

Wieland's choreographies point to an architecturally embossed understanding of the body, movement and space; he explores them in the human psyche, creating an abstract, metaphor -rich repertoire for his company. The development of the pieces subjected to a sophisticated process in order to explore a variety of situations of causality. This intensive and laborious process promotes an intimate and innovative relationship between the actors / dancers, composers, designers and other artists who are involved in Wieland's works and creates a flowing border to the fields of drama and performance art. Therefore Wieland uses in his plays often a video installations, texts, photographs, and original compositions. Wieland and the members of the company let their audience often sympathize with the way they work and their knowledge. This includes before and after performances to participate in discussions, offering " lecture- demonstration " of public rehearsals and training in different styles.
