Geography

Geographical Location

Johanniskirchen lies in the region of Landshut in the small Sulzbach, a side branch of the Vilstals. The village Johanniskirchen is located roughly 13 km north of the county town parish churches, 18 km northwest of Bad Birnbach, 23 km south-west of Vilshofen, 24 km south of Osterhofen and 32 km southeast of Landau. The nearest railway station is to be found in parish churches.

History

Documented Johanniskirchen appears in 1130 as a secular parish free of episcopal collation (award ) for the first time. Johanniskirchen belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the district court parish churches of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

Dummeldorf was incorporated in 1946. Part of the former municipality Mittershausen joined them on 1 January 1972. On July 1, 1972 Emmels village followed.

There are bus connections to Eggenfelden, parish churches and partly by Arnstorf.

Similarly, many clubs offer a wide range of leisure activities.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
