John A. Bonner Medal of Commendation

The John A. Bonner Medal is an award that is awarded at the Academy Awards in recognition of outstanding achievement and dedication in upholding the high standards of the Academy.

This award by John A. Bonner, a sound engineer, who for over thirty years the Oscar jury was named belonged. In 1977, the award was first awarded, then still as a Medal of Commendation. Only in 1997 the medal in memory of John A. Bonner was renamed.
