John Albert II, Duke of Mecklenburg

Johann Albrecht II, Duke of Mecklenburg [- Güstrow ] ( born May 5, in 1590 goods, † April 23, 1636 in Güstrow ) was from 1608 to 1610 alone ruling ( under supervision ) and from 1621, Duke of Mecklenburg in the country part Gustrow, and together with his brother Adolf Friedrich I of 1611-1621 Regent throughout the Duchy.

Life

Johann Albrecht was the son of Duke John VII and the Sophia of Schleswig -Holstein - Gottorp. Under the company name The Perfect he was accepted as a member of the Fruitbearing society.

He ruled on April 16, 1608 under guardianship of Duke Charles I, jointly with his brother Adolf Friedrich I in part of the country Schwerin, and followed his guardian on July 9, 1611 part of the country Güstrow. Johann Albrecht II was married three times.

( I. ) On October 9, 1608 he married Margaret Elizabeth ( 1584-1616 ), daughter of Christoph, Duke of Mecklenburg. The couple had the following children:

  • Karl Heinrich (1616-1618)

( II ) On March 26, 1618 he married Elisabeth of Hesse- Kassel (24 May 1596-16. December 1625 ) daughter of Moritz of Hessen- Kassel. The marriage remained childless.

(. 7 August 1600-17 July 1657 ) ( III.) His third wife Eleonore Marie of Anhalt- Bernburg daughter of Prince Christian I of Anhalt -Bernburg he married on 7 May 1626 the couple had the following children.:
