John Aloisi

John Aloisi ( born February 5, 1976 in Adelaide ) is an Australian former football player with Italian roots.

Aloisi began his career in 1991 with Adelaide United in Australia. The age of 15 he made his debut in the Australian Football League. A year later he moved to Belgium and played for half a year at Standard Liege. The striker moved in summer 1993 to league rivals FC Antwerp. In the winter of 1995 Aloisi Antwerp left after 35 missions to Italy to U.S. Cremonese. After 18 months with the Lombards, he moved to the island to Portsmouth. For Portsmouth he scored 28 goals in one and a half years.

During the winter break of the season 1999/98 Aloisi moved to Coventry City. There, however, he could not enforce properly and so he left again after 18 months and moved to Spain to CA Osasuna as a result of injuries and international game nominations. With Osasuna he reached the final of the Copa del Rey, which is his greatest success at club level in 2005. In the summer of 2005 he moved to Deportivo Alavés, where he signed a two-year contract. 2007 Aloisi returned back to Australia and played up his boots for the Central Coast Mariners, Sydney FC and Melbourne Heart.

2012 Aloisi was introduced as the new coach of Melbourne Heart. He was released when his team after twelve play with four points knocked off the last place of the A-League finished end of 2013.

National

The Australian National Aloisi played 55 international matches (27 goals). His debut in the national team, he was in 1997 against Macedonia. Aloisi took part with Australia at three Confederations Cup tournaments ( 1997, 2001, 2005), 1997, he reached the finals here. In addition, he was at the 2006 World Cup and the Asian Cup 2007 to the Australian squad.
