John Aniston
John Aniston ( born July 24, 1933, Chania, Crete, Greece Yannis Anastassakis ) is a Greek- American film and theater actor who is best known for his long-standing role as Victor Kiriakis on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. He is the father of actress Jennifer Aniston.
Life
Yannis Anastassakis (Greek Γιάννης Αναστασάκης ) was born in 1933 in the Cretan port of Chania. When he was two years old, his family emigrated to the United States and settled in Chester, Pennsylvania, where his father opened a restaurant.
He studied at the Pennsylvania State University, he graduated with a BA in Theater Arts. After his studies, he served in the U.S. Navy in the intelligence service. He left the army with the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
From the early 1960s he worked as an actor in television. In addition to various guest roles in television series like I Spy (1967 ), People of the Virginian (1968) and Mission: Impossible take (1969 ), he also appeared on the theater, including on Broadway, where the play Little he Mary Sunshine was seen.
Since 1986, he starred in the soap opera Days of Our Lives in more than 1,800 episodes, the role of Victor Kiriakis.
From 1965 closed marriage to actress Nancy Dow daughter Jennifer Aniston went bold (* 1969). The marriage ended in divorce in 1980. Since 1984 he has been married to actress Sherry Rooney. The second marriage sprang the son of Alexander Aniston (* 1989).
