John Ashton (actor)

John David Ashton ( born February 22, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts) is an American actor.

Life

Career

Ashton's career began with small roles in television series, he was in 1974 among others, Kojak and Columbo front of the camera. Followed by another series Starsky and Hutch performances in Dallas and he got a role in a feature film. In the comedy film Breaking Away he played the brother of Dennis Quaid and Daniel Stern were together with his film debut. In the science fiction film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Ashton a role opposite Jeff Goldblum, Peter Weller and Christopher Lloyd had. His breakthrough celebrated John Ashton in 1984 with the role of Detective Sergeant John Taggart in Beverly Hills Cop, where he played with Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold a police Trio. In the published 1986 adventure film King Kong lives of John Guillermin 's Ashton to be seen as Colonel who is killed by King Kong.

With Lea Thompson, he stood in the comedy Is not she wonderful? front of the camera before it a year later starred in the sequel to Beverly Hills Cop by Tony Scott. He then starred in Midnight Run ( with Dennis Farina and Robert DeNiro ), directed by Martin Brest, the two previously worked together on the first part of Beverly Hills Cop. In the television film Steven - The Abduction he played the father of the kidnapped Steven ( represented by Corin Nemec ). Tommy ocher - The monster of 1993 was an adaptation of the novel by Stephen King, in which Ashton also starred.

He stood with Nicolas Cage and Jon Lovitz in the with bad reviews Adventure Comedy Trapped in Paradise before the camera. This was followed by television films and small guest appearances in television series, until he received a role in the rotated by Jon Turteltaub film instinct ( with Anthony Hopkins, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Donald Sutherland ). There, he played the sadistic warden Dacks. In the directorial debut of Ben Affleck, Gone Baby Gone, he is next to Ed Harris, Morgan Freeman and Casey Affleck to see a police officer.
