John B. Anderson

John Bayard Anderson (* February 15, 1922 in Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois) is an American jurist and politician ( former Republican).

Anderson was dated January 3, 1961 to January 3, 1981 Member of the House of Representatives of the United States for the 16th District of the State of Illinois. In 1980, he competed unsuccessfully, first in the primaries for the nomination of the Republicans for the presidential election in which he ran as an independent candidate. He received 6.6 percent of the vote, but no votes in the Electoral College. Anderson was in 2000 briefly as a possible candidate of the Reform Party for the presidential election in conversation. For the 2008 election he was regarded as a supporter of the candidacy of Barack Obama.
