John Chambers (CEO)

John T. Chambers ( born August 23, 1949 in Cleveland) is an American manager and since 1995 CEO and president of the company Cisco Systems, Inc..

Chambers studied at West Virginia University. There he obtained in 1971 a degree in Economics, 1974 in Law. At Indiana University, he obtained in 1975 a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Administration industry. From 1976 to 1982 he worked at IBM from 1982 to 1990 at the Wang Laboratories. Chambers began in 1991 as senior vice president at Cisco, he was initially responsible for the worldwide distribution. Since 1995, the annual turnover increased from 1.2 billion U.S. dollars to currently around 40 billion U.S. dollars.

He has worked for the American President Bill Clinton in a Trade Committee. The inauguration of George W. Bush, he accompanied as an employee, it in an Education Committee and most recently as Vice President of a Committee for the Protection of National Infrastructure ( National Infrastructure Advisory Council, NIAC ) advice.
