John Coffey (band)

John Coffey is a Punkrock-/Post-Hardcore-Band founded in 2002 from Utrecht.

History

After the two EPs White Like the New Sky (2005) and Spring ( 2007) published in 2009 the debut album Vanity on Sally Forth Records and the band is touring with bands like Underoath, Cancer Bats, Architects, The Chariot or Ghost of a Thousand by several European States. 2011 collects the band through a crowdfunding campaign on Sella band enough financial resources to accommodate the second album Bright Companions can. In November 2011, it is recorded in the Gröhndahl Studios in Sweden with producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt ( The Hives, Refused ) and Jag Jago (former guitarist for Ghost of a Thousand ). The album will be released in September 2012 on Redfield Records and rises in the Dutch charts at # 42 Laut.de writes: ". The songs are full of euphoric joy of playing, grooving and dancing like an extremely hard version of the Hives "

Style

The Visions described the band's style as " bastard of rock ' n ' roll, punk, hardcore and much chaos." The Ox- fanzine called him a " pig rock geschwängerte hardcore Dampflock " [ sic] and termed as similar bands Refused and The Bronx. Laut.de also called Kvelertak and Royal Republic and describes the played music as " sound between brutality, sophisticated arrangements and bawdy fun."
