John Collier (athlete)

John Collier ( Collier John Sheldon, born September 26, 1907 in Buffalo, † October 31, 1984 in Coronado, California ) was an American hurdler, who specializes in the 110-meter distance.

In 1928 he qualified as a U.S. runner-up for the Olympic Games in Amsterdam, where he ( s 14.9 ) won the bronze medal in 14.9 s after the South Africans Sydney Atkinson ( 14.8 s ) and his compatriot Stephen Anderson.

In 1934 he became a U.S. indoor champion over 65 m hurdles.

John Collier graduated from Brown University.
