John Cook (Golfer)

John Cook ( born October 2, 1957 in Toledo, Ohio) is an American professional golfer on the PGA TOUR. He is one of the veterans of this great North American tournament series, playing there since 1980 in more than 700 tournaments, winning eleven of them.

The U.S. Amateur champion from 1978 was the year after professional golfer and won in 1981 his first victory on the PGA TOUR. In 1983 he won with partner Mark O'Meara the World Cup for the USA and stood in the victorious American team of the Ryder Cup ten years later. In 2003 he had to undergo a shoulder operation, where multiple cysts were removed.

Since October 2007, Cook is eligible for the Champions Tour, where he was able to land equal to a tournament victory at cost.
