John de Jongh

John de Jongh ( born November 13, 1957) is an American politician and governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Life

After school Jongh studied at Antioch College in Ohio economics. Jongh was a member of the Democratic Party. Jongh is since 1 January 2007 Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, as the successor of Charles Wesley Turnbull. On 2 November 2010 he was re-elected as governor in the gubernatorial elections.

Jongh is married to Cecile René Galiber.
