John DeFrancis

John DeFrancis ( born August 31, 1911 † January 2, 2009 in Hawaii ) was an important contemporary sinologist.

He was most recently a professor emeritus of Chinese Language and scientists at the University of Hawaii, United States. He is the author of a number of new ( in the 1960s and 1970s ) didactic concepts BASED Chinese textbooks. His Readers and Supplementary Readers to the textbooks are particularly considered.
