John Eriksen

John Hartmann Eriksen ( born November 20, 1957 in Assen, Denmark, † 12 February 2002 in Svendborg, Denmark) was a Danish football player who played in the position of striker.

Career

Youth

Eriksen was born in Assen, in 1964, his family moved from Assen to Svendborg, where he and his brother began to Svendborg FB playing football. His first title he won in 1968. At the age of 17 years ( June 1975), he made his debut for the Svendborg FB

Clubs

After two seasons at Svendborg Eriksen moved to Odense BK where he scored 22 goals in two seasons for the club. In January 1980 he moved to the Netherlands in the Eredivisie Roda JC.

In the 1984/85 season he moved to FC Mulhouse in the French Ligue 2 In the summer he returned to the Netherlands back to Feyenoord Rotterdam, he scored 22 goals this season and Feyernood the end of the season placed in third place.

Death

After his career end Eriksen ill with Alzheimer's and lived for three years in a nursing home in Svendborg. On 12 February 2002 he died in Svendborg. He was buried in the St. Nicolai church in Svendborg on 20 February 2002.
