John Farnham

John Farnham AO ( born July 1, 1949 in Dagenham, Essex, England) is an Australian singer. While he only has a modest international reputation, he is in his home country for decades one of the most famous musicians. With the piece Farnham You're the Voice had 1987 in several European countries, a number -one hit.

Life

His first commercial success was Farnham, whose family had emigrated to Australia in 1959, with the song Sadie the Cleaning Lady, which sold 180,000 times, a record for Australia in the 1960s. In the 1970s he was involved in various television productions.

From 1981 to 1984 he was the frontman of the Little River Band, with whom he released three albums. The published 1986 solo album Whispering Jack with the outcoupling You're the Voice became one of the greatest successes and gave Farnham final breakthrough. The album topped the album charts in 25 weeks.

Since then, he was to see, along with other famous pop and rock stars, in numerous productions and concerts, such as at the opening of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, when he appeared along with Olivia Newton-John.

Farnham is married to Jillian Billman since 1973 and has two sons. Him the title of Officer of the Order of Australia in 1996 awarded.
