John Fellows Akers

John Fellows Akers ( born December 28, 1934) is an American manager.

Akers studied at Yale University. In 1960, he joined as a sales trainee in the computer company IBM. In 1976, he became vice president. From 1983 to 1989 he was president of IBM. 1984 to 1993 he held the post of CEO at IBM held; from 1986 to 1993 he was also " chairman" (Chairman) from IBM. His successor as CEO Louis Gerstner Jr. was at IBM.
